Integrative Somatic Trauma Sessions are a body led perspective of yourself through the lens of your nervous system. By tracking wisdom of the body's sensory responses moment to moment, we can meet those charges with the proper response to offer some sort of felt sense of completion.
In session, we practice noticing sensation and meeting it with a need or a desire that can further allow you to understand why that response exists to begin with. We patiently and compassionately follow what shows up. Somatic embodiment gives you the experience of how trauma and stress shows up in your life and your responses. We can become habitual without us even realizing it. Often we are overriding what our body is telling us and we become disconnected to how repair is available to us.
We loose connection to know what we want, what we like, what we desire, what we need and how to truly take care of ourselves. Our bodies tell our stories, and its my job to hold the sacred space for you to ask the right questions and observe and recognize your response so we can uncover your desires to live in your truth.
Sessions can be in sensation tracking, manual touch, and movement therapy to access reorganization of the nervous system. We integrate energy work such as Reiki, hands on yoga and Thai compression body work, and somatic tools and exercises to explore our capacity to access consent, boundaries, yeses and nos in your system. We tap into the body's language so you can understand what you feel to unlock the pattern from your unconsciousness.
Its not what happens to you that causes trauma to your system, it is what didn't happen after the rupture. We are sensing those ruptures and offering what you may have needed at the time.
I offer integrative somatic sessions by appointment in Old Town Fort Collins at The Healing Gardens Health Center.
To do nothing is to hold yourself still so you can perceive what is actually there.
Guided Somatic tracking healing sessions are so helpful because they are incredibly orienting. So often we are feeling things all at once and this process can help slow things down so we can feel how our patterns are showing up in our bodies, We can untangle coupling, assumptions, old patterns...the "thing" that is between us and the understanding that we seek. This helps to shift the pattern from our subconscious awareness into our conscious awareness, helping us to meet ourselves and heal.
This is a process of building a relationship to yourself, to your senses and what you notice. We are tracking wisdom, without trying to change anything...we are meeting you, where you are at. Your body leads the way.
I have seen this process work for people experiencing chronic physical pain. Dealing with disassociation, anxiety, depression and feeling stuck in behavior patterns.
